Nutanix, Inc. is aggressively pursuing the hyperconverged market, according to theCUBE cohosts Dave Vellante and Stu Miniman, who wrapped up day one of Nutanix’s .NEXT 2015 conference.
“They lay out a path for a multi-hypervisor multicloud world,” said Miniman. “It’s exciting to see how far they’ve come.”
“Nutanix is trying to accelerate things that VMware is trying to slow-roll,” Vellante emphasized. “Nutanix talks about making storage invisible, hypervisor invisible and Cloud invisible. EMC and VMware have been talking for years about making storage invisible. Have they succeeded?”
Miniman said that the storage industry has made progress, “But we’re not quite yet at the easy button.”
Overall, Miniman and Vellante noted that there was “a lot of excitement, a lot of momentum” during Nutanix .NEXT’s first day. “You can feel the winners when you see one, and this company is a winner.”
