The power of the ‘use case’ at PentahoWorld 2015| #pworld15

As coverage of PentahoWorld 2015 came to a close in Orlando, George Gilbert, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, and Donna Prlich, VP of product marketing for Pentaho Corp., reviewed the key takeaways of the event.

Great customers

Prlich felt the takeaway for her was looking at Pentaho’s customers like EDO Corp., CERN and FINRA (to name only a few), and realizing the scale and history of the company’s customers and having them all interact with each other.

For Gilbert, the theme he took away from customer talks and interviews on theCUBE was the end-to-end capability of the platform to take data, blend it and make it available for analysis. He said,” It’s very powerful. I haven’t seen that from anyone else.”

The data pipeline is important to Pentaho’s business, giving the company a bigger advantage. Prlich said that going forward, “The successes [they have seen] and the customers; this is where we will invest.”

Great use cases

The pair discussed the use cases of CERN and Intelligent Mechatronic Systems, Inc. (IMS) and how Pentaho’s analytic capabilities are providing important and useful data across industries that will have long-term results.
