Windows 10 gets Groovier with App of the Week iHeartRadio intergration

Microsoft’s music app for Windows 10, Groove, just gave listeners a far wider selection of tunes with the integration of iHeartRadio. Groove was created by Microsoft as the place to go in Windows 10 to manage and play songs, but up until now it has not integrated the app with an outside service, such as iHeartRadio. Microsoft has said that this is exclusive to Groove, so you won’t be seeing iHeart integrating with any other apps – at least for one year.

The move means that listeners will benefit from thousands of radio stations throughout the U.S.; stations covering just about every musical genre from pop, electronic, country, alternative, punk, urban, rock, talk, college – listened to by 110 million people in the U.S. each week. Users can listen to live stations or create their own custom station based on a chosen song.

We are excited to bring the love of radio to Groove,” said Michele Laven, President of Business Development and Partnerships for iHeartMedia. “With the ability to listen to thousands of live radio stations and create custom stations from more than 20 million songs and 800,000 artists, there’s a station to fit every music taste.”

If you want to get iHeartRadio and you don’t have a Groove Music Pass you can open Groove in Windows 10 and go to an artist’s page. You will have had to have installed the iHeartRadio app first. Once there you will find out if there is a custom station based on that artist.
