It has been over three months since the release of Fallout 4, and Bethesda Game Studios has finally revealed the first round of paid downloadable content that will be coming to the game.

Bethesda actually revealed three separate add-ons coming to Fallout 4, all at different price points, including Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, and Far Harbor.

Automatron (March 2016)

Fallout 4 already has a few dead-eyed robot companions like Codsworth and Preston Garvey, but the upcoming Automatron add-on will allow players to build their own robot by assembling parts from across the wasteland.

Here’s Bethesda’s description of the add-on:

The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!

From the description, it sounds a lot like these custom-made robots will work similarly to Fallout 4’s weapon modification system, which allows players to customize their weapons to suit their playstyle.

Automatron will release in March for $9.99 USD.

Wasteland Workshop (April 2016)

Wasteland Workshop will be Fallout 4’s equivalent of the Hearthfire add-on released for Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but rather than letting you adopt children, it will let you tame cuddly wasteland creatures like Deathclaws.

Wasteland Workshop will add cages that players can use to trap all sorts of living creatures, including people, which can then be forced to fight to the death. The add-on will also beef up the settlement crafting system by adding a number of new decorations and objects.

This will be the cheapest of the newly announced add-ons, coming in at only $4.99 USD.

Far Harbor (May 2016)

Far Harbor will be the first longform story-based add-on for Fallout 4 and will feature a case for everyone’s favorite film noir detective robot, Nick Valentine.

Here is Bethesda’s full synopsis of Far Harbor:

A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.

Far Harbor is set to release in May and will be the most expensive of the three new add-ons at $24.99 USD.

Season Pass price increase

Now that Bethesda has finally revealed some of its upcoming DLC, the studio has also announced that it will be raising the price of the Season Pass for the game, which includes all of the DLC that will be released.

“And more important, that this is only the beginning,” Bethesda said on its blog. “We have plans for more. More than $60 worth of new Fallout adventures and features throughout 2016.”

“Given the expanded DLC plan, the price of the season pass will increase from the current $29.99 to $49.99 USD (£24.99 to £39.99 GBP; $49.95 to $79.95 AUD) on March 1, 2016.”

Bethesda noted that nothing will change for users who buy the season pass before that date, so if you plan on buying more than one or two add-ons for Fallout 4, it is still worth buying the season pass before the price hike.
