Many women with a variety of technical skills and backgrounds visit theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, at the many events we cover. Their impact on the industry and vision for the future is helping to shape a new way of doing business. Check out some recent interviews below with the wonder women in tech and hear their thoughts on the current state of the industry and where they are taking it.
“I think that the basic capabilities of data analytics will be a skill that every professional will have some familiarity with – no matter what their role or background is. You’ll see it in every department from marketing to tech because it’s still a little bit difficult to ask even simple data analytics questions inside a lot of companies. It’s still technically messy, and that’s why you have people in specialized roles doing it. But the tools are progressing so quickly I think we’ll eventually see that get pushed out to everybody.”
“At BMC, we have always been part of the open-source community, and what you’ll see is that we will really be giving back. If you look at our intelligence solution, we have a lot of open-source technology coming to market. What do we take and give back to the open-source community?”
“DevOps is an interesting, nebulous concept, and a lot of people are unsure. To me DevOps is not all about the tools, it is a culture on which your developers need to be open to working with your infrastructure, and you need to work your infrastructure so that it is usable from your devs.
“We ask our customers, ‘Why does your infrastructure have to be so strict? Why can’t we make it flexible for them (developers)?’ We’re not in the inflexible traditional IT world anymore. Things change from day to day, and there is no reason to not be flexible.”
“It’s an exciting time to be a CIO in the automotive business because the technology is really becoming the business. And we’re excited about the connected vehicle data platform and how we are going forward – we’re excited about bringing all that data together. We already got started on that, but the sky’s the limit.”
