Atos and EMC partner to deploy a secure, cloud IT infrastructure for Olympic Games | #emcworld
Atos SE, a multinational IT services corporation and worldwide IT partner for the Olympic Games, joined the EMC Federation in 2012. Many of the company’s current projects evolved as a result of its work with its Enhanced Alliance with the Federation. One of those projects is its partnership with EMC to deploy a secure, cloud IT infrastructure that will be used to power future Olympic Games.
Michel-Alain Proch, senior EVP and CEO of North American Operations at Atos SE, credits the success of its work with EMC to concurring perspectives on customer needs. Proch stated more specifically that Atos joined the Federation “based on the joint view that our customer wants to now consume Technology as a Service.”
Proch remarked that Atos and EMC’s customers are also looking for a “fully opaque model” and “expect full end-to-end and turnkey solutions.” Proch joined John Furrier (@furrier) and Dave Vellante (@dvellante), cohosts of theCUBE, from SiliconANGLE Media team, for a chat at EMC World 2016. Proch stated that Atos offers “end-to-end commitment” and “singular accountability.”
Current projects
In addition, Proch commented further on the partnership with EMC, saying Atos has “invested into a broad range of technology with our friends at EMC.”
The company started traditionally but then moved into Enterprise Private Cloud and Enterprise Hybrid Cloud. Currently, Atos is working with EMC and VMware, Inc. on the “software design data center.”
When is comes to the work the company is doing for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, set to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Proch described his company’s efforts with EMC to create a private cloud as being on a “massive scale.”
