What does the HPE enterprise services business spin-off mean for customers? | #HPEdiscover

The Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Co. (HPE) recently announced spin off of its enterprise services business, which will merge with Computer Sciences Corp (CSC), has created questions in the minds of customers as to what the future holds for them, and what they can look forward to in the future.

To discuss how HPE is addressing customer concerns over the move, Scott Weller, SVP and GM of Support Services at HPE, sat down with Dave Vellante (@dvellante) and John Furrier (@furrier), cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during HPE Discover 2016 in Las Vegas.

Still business as usual

Even though the business structure of HPE is changing, customers can still expect the same level of service they have gotten from the company so far. Customers still need advice on the decisions they are making and guidance on how to implement solutions.

HPE and its CSC partners are committed to providing that same level of service as they have in the past. In fact, HPE believes that the merger will actually benefit customers in the long run. “What it does for the new Hewlett-Packard Enterprise is create a lot more focus,” explained Weller.

Helping customers make the right decisions

Most customers are aware of what is happening in regards to the enterprise data ecosystem. They are aware that it makes sense to move to the public cloud, but are unsure of how or if they should do it. HPE is helping these customers understand that a total workload migration to the Cloud has certain risks involved and may not be the right solution for them, but in fact a hybrid solution may be the answer they are looking for.

“This is part of what is in this new HPE, is all the capability to have those conversations, to do the implementations. And, ultimately, if we have to bring in partners for the pieces that we don’t have, we’re able to do that,” said Weller.
