What is HPE’s next big bet? | #HPEdiscover
For much of its long career, Hewlett Packard, and now Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (HPE) and HP, Inc., have placed big bets. Sometimes they lose, but when they win, they win big.
“This is the outcome of a consistent strategy and execution,” said Antonio Neri, EVP and GM at HPE. Neri sat down with Dave Vellante (@dvellante) and John Furrier (@furrier), cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during HPE Discover 2016.
“We continue to innovate in the datacenter. Portfolio has never been stronger,” Neri said. “We focus on high-performance computing, which is growing rapidly. We’ve invested in HPE Synergy and Helion. Now we’re making a new bet, which is the Edge.”
HPE Edgeline IoT Systems
Neri is referring to the HPE Edgeline IoT Systems, which deliver open solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT) market. Customers can securely aggregate and analyze data in real time and control devices and things.
“You need to run analytics where the data is being collected to provide real-time information to the hands of people that can do something with it,” said Neri. “You have to be able to collect data, process it with the right power and the right footprint, and get those analytics in real time. That’s why our focus is slightly different – to analyze data at the edge with the right compute and the right connectivity and the right Big Data analytics.”
