Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd’s sub-brand Honor has announced its latest smartphone at a launch event in Beijing, the massive 6.6-inch Note 8 with Quad HD resolution. The 6.6-inch phablet rivals the Samsung Galaxy Note7 due to launch tomorrow, which will come with a rumored 5.7-inch display or a slightly larger display of 5.8 inches.

We look at what the Honor Note 8 offers users, including a 6.6-inch display, 4,500 mAh battery, and more for an impressive price tag starting at $346.

The Note 8 phablet has a massive 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display and includes a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels at 443 ppi. The company touts the huge display as perfect for gaming, productivity, and multimedia.

Battery

The Note 8 has an impressive 4,500 mAh battery with USB C. The rumors surrounding the Galaxy Note7 has the phablet packing either a 3,600 mAh battery or a larger 4,000 mAh.

Price & availability

The Honor Note 8 also comes with an impressive price tag starting at ¥2,299, approximately $346 for the 32GB model. While the top-of-the-range 128GB version will only set you back ¥2,599, approximately $421. If rumors are to be believed the Galaxy Note7 will be the most expensive of Samsung’s flagships with a starting price of $939.

Unfortunately for U.S. customers, though, is the Honor Note 8 is only available in China with a release date of August 8. An international release date has not been announced yet; however, Huawei is having a special launch event in San Francisco on August 16. Perhaps we could see the newest Note 8 addition make an appearance for U.S. audiences.
