Network analytics startup Nyansa raises $15M in Intel-led funding round

Network analytics provider Nyansa Inc. is gunning for success after landing a $15 million round of funding from Intel Capital, the investment arm of Intel Corp., and previous investor Formation 8.

Nyansa’s main product is its Voyance platform, which helps customers to manage and optimize user performance with infrastructure devices, applications and services. The company said the platform leverages technologies such as big data network analytics and machine learning to help chief information officers, network operations and help desk personnel manage their enterprise information technology environments. The platform can deliver insights into client access conditions, network service behavior and enterprise applications issues that impact user performance, according to the company.

Nyansa said the platform has been deployed in more than 200 production environments since its launch in 2016, analyzing the performance of more than 3 million user devices.

Nyansa was somewhat ambiguous about what it intends to do with the new funds, however, saying only that they’ll be used to support “strategic growth initiatives” and “continued innovation” of the Voyance platform.

“Our goal with this latest injection of capital is to continue doing what we do best, delivering a unique user performance management platform that helps customers ensure the best possible user network experience, whether that user is a person, device or application,” said Chief Executive Officer Abe Ankumah.

Most likely the company will invest some of its new capital into building out the machine learning capabilities of the Voyance platform, which received a big thumbs up from Intel.

“Artificial intelligence and machine learning can address network challenges such as customer experience management, predictive maintenance and automated remediation,” said Sandra Rivera, senior vice president and general manager of the Network Platforms Group at Intel. “Our investment in Nyansa, a market innovator in this space, reflects a belief in the broader adoption of such AI-enabled, big-data-driven analytics platforms.”

The Series B round means that Nyansa has raised a total of $27 million to date. Intel Capital’s Alexandre Villela, an investment director specializing in networking and communications infrastructure, will join Nyansa’s board as part of the deal.
