No-code automation platform provider Tonkean Inc. said today it has raised $24 million in new funding to allow it to scale up its “adaptive business operations” technology.
Founded in 2015, Tonkean offers a “human in the loop” robotic automation platform that is said to bridge the “last mile” gap between people, technology and processes. Pitched as the operating system for business operations, the company’s platform is designed for operations teams with adaptive no-code support that allows for the orchestration of processes, coordination of people and connection of systems.
Bypassing the need for developers is at the heart of Tonkean’s offering. Along with its focus on empowering operations teams, the service is also promoted as an alternative to buying or building systems while also avoiding a fall back to manual work.
The platform can also be used by companies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Facilitating remote work and automation, the Tonkean offering has evolved and expanded robotic process automation technology to create a new, more dynamic and flexible category of software, what it calls adaptive business operations.
The company’s customer base includes Microsoft Corp., Salesforce Inc., Lyft Inc. and Thomson Reuters Corp.
“Our mission is to empower operations teams to design and manifest the future of work — a future that’s more adaptive, efficient and appreciative of the importance of people, as opposed to tech, or data,” Tonkean Chief Executive Officer Sagi Eliyahu said in a post on Medium. “In a time of disruption and uncertainty, we have little time to waste, which is why this raise — along with the partner we’ve acquired through it — is such a big deal.”
The Series A round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Including the new round, Tonkean has raised $31.2 million to date. Previous investors include Slow Ventures, Magma Venture Partners, Foundation Capital and Microsoft ScaleUp Tel Aviv.
