CTERA launches DevOps toolset for global-scale file delivery to enable remote work
CTERA Networks Ltd., a cloud-driven enterprise secure file services platform, today announced the release of DevOps tools designed to allow businesses to deliver files securely across the world to enable easier remote work and support development and operations teams.
Starting today, the CTERA Software Development Kit for Python and the CTERA Ansible Collection will enable engineers to provision hybrid cloud storage services rapidly with edge-to-cloud capabilities with only a few lines of code.
CTERA’s platform enables enterprise businesses to adapt rapidly by creating customizable infrastructure that can deliver data to wherever it is needed by employees and enable enhanced collaboration.
With an increased need to support remote workers in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, CTERA believes, the agile and frictionless delivery of remote file services at scale will become even more important to enterprise businesses.
In early March, business giants including Google and Twitter pushed a large portion of their workforce to work from home in order to help slow the spread of the pandemic. Twitter alone recommended that 5,000 employees work from home and the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase asked employees susceptible to the virus to work remotely.
Even without the pandemic, the ability to support remote workers at scale and provision storage rapidly for organizational needs can allow enterprises to remain agile in development. DevOps teams integrate and communicate heavily between themselves and must share information constantly in order to collaborate deeply.
“CTERA stands ready to support enterprise DevOps and the critical role these teams will play in an increasingly distributed post-COVID-19 era,” said Aron Brand, chief technology officer of CTERA. “Our new offerings close the gap between centralized IT and remote users by enabling faster, agile deployment of storage services that drive user productivity and ensure business continuity.”
The CTERA DevOps software development kit will allow Python developers to create applications for modern file system architectures that can scale to any size and automate the provisioning of cloud storage resources worldwide across multiple providers. The CTERA Ansible Collection will permit enterprises to automate Information Technology processes without the need for complex scripting knowledge or elaborate programming by adopting an infrastructure-as-code approach.
Both of those tools make use of the CTRA Enterprise File Services Platform to harness the power of the cloud to replace legacy file storage systems without reducing security or performance.
The CTERA DevOps SDK and Ansible Collections are generally available on GitHub today under an open-source license.
