EMERGING TECH

Watch live: Exascale Day explores the rapidly advancing world of supercomputing

In normal times, National Exascale Day on October 18 would be the appropriate occasion to hug a scientist and thank them for their hard work. But hugs are strongly discouraged these days, so recognition will have to come in different forms. A celebration of major strides in exascale, or high-performance computing, might be a good place to start.

TheCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, with the support of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co., is celebrating Exascale Day on October 16. TheCUBE will interview leading scientists and analysts, including Bryan Dansberry, education specialist at NASA Johnson Space Center; Shahin Khan, founding partner and analyst at Orion Enterprises; and Mark Parsons, professor at the EPCC, the supercomputing center at The University of Edinburgh.

“We have some of the smartest people in the world joining us,” said Dave Vellante, host of theCUBE. “They’re going to share how innovations with supercomputing are changing the world in healthcare, space exploration, artificial intelligence and other mind-melting projects.”

During Exascale Day, discussion will include important computing achievements to date, as well as what’s in store for the rapidly advancing world of supercomputing. (* Disclosure below.)
