Watch live: AWS Public Sector Summit Online spotlights edge-computing tech and cloud-ready solutions

If the U.S. public sector still believed it had a few more years to migrate operations to the cloud, that impression was quickly dispelled over the course of a few days in March. As a global pandemic forced the closure of schools, offices and retail businesses, public sector officials turned to major technology providers for critical support.

“The COVID-19 crisis showed just how fast organizations can move when missions need to drive decision-making,” said Teresa Carlson, vice president of worldwide public sector at AWS, during a virtual presentation in July. “We’ve seen public sector organizations move so fast during this time. In fact, we’ve seen more innovation and movement in the past two to three months than we’ve seen in the past two years.”

During today’s AWS Public Sector Summit Online event, theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, will spotlight AWS’ development of new edge-computing deployment technologies, adoption of cloud-ready solutions to modernize public sector operations, and efforts to support global governments in fighting COVID-19.
