Watch live: Building a workforce strategy for the digital economy featured at HPE Workplace Next

In a time when routines have been significantly disrupted, even corporate quarterly earnings calls can yield a surprise. One such event with top executives from Salesforce.com Inc., generally routine affairs filled with standard financial reporting, took an unexpected turn in August.

During the Salesforce call, Marc Benioff, chairman and chief executive, revealed that a third of the company’s employees were “reporting mental health challenges” as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The revelation was a necessary reminder that the employees helping businesses survive during unprecedented times were having a hard time adapting.

“It’s not just about the productivity of remote workers,” said Dave Vellante, chief analyst at SiliconANGLE Media’s sister market research firm Wikibon and host of SiliconANGLE’s livestreaming video studio theCUBE. “The health and welfare of employees and ecosystem partners is also of paramount importance. What’s more, many processes post-COVID are unknown, so the techniques and best practices required to be most successful are constantly evolving.”

Building a workforce strategy for the digital economy during and after a pandemic will be the primary topic during the Workplace Next event, sponsored by Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. During the virtual broadcast, set to take place on November 10, the event will feature business leaders and industry experts from the human resources, real estate, facilities and IT industries discussing how to create an efficient and productive, as well as rewarding, workplace environment during challenging times.
