Hybrid cloud management startup CloudBolt Software raises $35M
Hybrid cloud management startup CloudBolt Software Inc. has raised $35 million in new funding to build out its technology vision, accelerate international expansion and invest in new partnerships.
The Series B round consisted of a mix of equity and venture debt. The equity raise was led by Insight Partners while the venture debt was issued by Hercules Capital Inc. and Bridge Bank.
Founded in 2012, CloudBolt offers enterprise cloud management and integration solutions designed to deploy and manage virtual machines, applications and other information technology resources both on public clouds and in private data centers. The cloud side includes support for Amazon Web Services Inc., Microsoft Corp.’s Azure and Google LLC’s Cloud Platform while private data center support includes VMware Inc. and OpenStack among others.
Pitched as providing simple solutions for the toughest cloud challenges, CloudBolt’s Cloud Management Platform features automation and compliance that is designed to “turn your enterprise into the cloud provider” with a responsive, agile alternative to “runaway IT” that gives DevOps teams what they want.
The company also offers a number of complementary services such as Kumolous Continuous Cloud Optimization designed to save money through cost visibility and management, security and governance for the public cloud. CloudBolt’s OneFuse Codeless Integration Platform is described as an integration as a service platform that simplifies the integration and governance of infrastructure endpoints such as IP address management, domain name systems, networking and security.
CloudBolt has found a willing audience, doubling the size of its customer base over the 12 months. Customers include the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, The Home Depot Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc., InterContinental Hotels Group plc, Capgemini SE and Cummins Inc.
“As enterprises accelerate their investments in hybrid cloud, they face growing challenges around shadow IT, lack of visibility and complex integrations across their IT and DevOps toolsets,” Jeff Kukowski, chief executive officer of CloudBolt Software, said in a statement. “These factors require a bold, new vision for cloud management where enterprises must continuously automate, secure and optimize their cloud workloads while using their tools of choice.
Including the new funding, CloudBolt has raised $61.6 million to date.
