SailPoint’s new Workflow offering automates complex and repetitive tasks
Cloud enterprise identity security company SailPoint Technologies Holdings Inc. announced a number of new capabilities today at its Navigate 2021 conference, led by Workflow, a service to automate tasks.
Sailpoint’s Workflow, offered on a software-as-a-service basis, is pitched as allowing users to automate complex and repetitive tasks by creating a workflow from scratch or to browse through available templates to fit exact needs. The service connects seamlessly to a variety of other SaaS applications within a cloud environment.
Workflow allows enterprises to automate use cases like event-driven certifications and custom approvals through application programming interfaces and even triggers. Users are said to be able to accelerate innovation through an easy drag-and-drop builder through no-code workflow, decreasing runtime and freeing up team power to focus on forward-looking projects.
Also announced at the conference were new event-driven certifications and automated outlier detection. The event-driven certifications allow enterprise users to create reports to automatically and dynamically review employee access versus monitoring manually. The automated outlier detection identifies the most pressing threats with a prioritized list of high-risk identifies across the organization.
“In addition to all of the work we’re doing from an identity intelligence and data standpoint, we’re also heavily focused on delivering deeper automation and extensibility,” Grady Summers, executive vice president of product at SailPoint, said. “From an automation standpoint, how can we help security admins identify the most pressing identity risks to mitigate with so much flying at them at once?”
His answer: “With AI-enabled intelligence, we can accelerate their ability to prioritize the areas of greatest risk first,” Summers said. “Similarly, we know our customers need identity security processes and policies to fit within the context of their business and workflows, becoming the unifying thread tying people with technology.”
Workflows will be available to SailPoint customers starting in the fourth quarter of 2021. An early-adopter program is open to all SailPoint customers should they wish to try out Workflows before the service is in general release.
