Israeli security management platform startup Adaptive Shield raises $30M

Israeli security management platform startup A.S. Adaptive Shield Ltd. announced today it has raised $30 million in new funding to expand operations and its business reach.

Insight Partners led the Series A round. Also participating in the round were Okta Ventures and Vertex Ventures Israel. Including the new funding, Adaptive Shield has raised $34 million to date, according to Crunchbase.

Founded in 2019, Adaptive Shield offers a security posture management platform used by businesses to manage their cloud services. The platform providers a continuous, automated solution and knowledge base to deliver software-as-a-service security that enables organizations to adopt best practices, security frameworks and benchmarks.

With a focus on enabling companies to secure their SaaS stacks, a discipline know as SaaS Security Posture Management or SSPM, the platform delivers visibility and remediation for potential risks caused by misconfiguration and misappropriated privileges.

Pitched as SaaS that integrates SaaS, businesses can deploy the Adaptive Shield solution in minutes. Once in place, the service sends detailed alerts at the first sign of security misconfiguration and proactively fixes these for all global settings and user privileges.

Adaptive Shield has broad support for a range of existing SaaS, letting users easily control and optimize their security across their entire stack. Support is available for Office 365, Salesforce Inc., Jira, GSuite,  Slack Inc., Zoom Video Communications Inc., Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, Box Inc., OneDrive, Okta Inc., ServiceNow Inc., Zendesk Inc., SAP SuccessFactors and many others.

The company says it works with some of the Fortune 500. Notable customers include Home Depot Inc.

“Expecting security teams to stay on top of SaaS Security misconfigurations without a proper SSPM solution in place is like expecting a bodyguard to protect an invisible person,” Maor Bin, co-founder and chief executive officer of Adaptive Shield, said in a statement. “Deep visibility and continuous maintenance of SaaS security hygiene is crucial to keeping the company secure.”

Speaking to Ctech, Bin discussed how a relatively young company had raised $34 million to date. “The reason we raised a large sum so far is due to our surpassing of the growth milestones shown to investors, who recognize we have something big,” Bin said. “We have significant customers today in Israel and around the world.”
