Cloud governance and management startup cloudtamer.io raises $9.5M

Automated multicloud governance and management solution provider cloudtamer.io today announced that it has raised $9.5 million in new funding.

It will be used to increase its headcount to fuel growth in the company, incorporated as Nor Labs Inc., and bring enhanced cloud governance and management capabilities to market.

Blue Heron Capital and TDF Ventures led the Series A round. Also participating in the round were Blu Venture Investors, Early Light Ventures and Gaingels. Including the new funding, cloudtamer.io has raised $11.5 million to date.

Founded in 2018, cloudtamer.io offers comprehensive cloud governance software that allows users to manage their cloud presence at large scale. The company’s platform is designed to simplify account management, enforce budgets and automate compliance. In doing so, cloudtamer.io says, its offering gives confidence in managing budgets and access to the resources needed to deliver budget and security results.

Cloudtamer.io pitches itself as providing a solution to the problem where the COVID-19 pandemic and the switch to remote work has seen the need for cloud management solutions to have grown exponentially. Companies have experienced significant challenges with the switch to cloud management including slow time to value, financial insecurity and compliance risk.

The cloudtamer.io platform helps organizations tackle these challenges and reduce complexity within the cloud by providing a single solution for both cloud governance and management. It provides practical ways to control costs and more scalable methods to automate compliance within the cloud.

“Moving to and managing cloud environments is a step that organizations, in both federal and commercial markets, are focusing on right now, and they need a solution that enables them to make better decisions and achieve granular control,” Brian Price, co-founder and chief executive officer of cloudtamer.io, said in a statement. “We are dedicated to helping these organizations optimize their operations to fully leverage all features offered by the cloud.”
