Apple device management platform startup Kandji raises $100M
Apple Inc. device management platform startup Kandji Inc. today announced it had raised $100 million in new funding to evolve its product offerings, increase global hiring and open a London office.
Tiger Global led the Series C round. Also participating in the round were Definition Capital, Frontline Ventures, First Round Capital, Greycroft, Felicis Ventures, The Spruce House Partnership, B Capital Group and Okta Ventures.
Including the new funding, Kandji has raised $184.4 million to date, according to data from Crunchbase. Kandji did not disclose the valuation on the new funding but did say it was nearly 10 times higher than the valuation of its Series A round. That round was $21 million in October 2020.
Founded in 2018, Kandji offers an Apple device management platform for macOS, iOS, iPadOS and tvOS. Designed to accommodate growing businesses and increasing regulatory demands, the company claims that other solutions are either overly simplistic or mind-numbingly complex.
The platform saves information technology teams hours of manual, repetitive work with features such as one-click compliance templates and more than 150 pre-built automations, apps and workflows. Through a service called Liftoff, a freshly unboxed Mac can be transformed into an enterprise-ready computer with all the right apps, settings and security controls in place, the company says.
Maximum visibility is at the forefront of the service, with businesses seeing their entire fleet of Apple devices and keeping tabs on all activity. Coverage includes detailed records, key updates and an extensive log of remediations performed on each machine. A self-service module also offers end-users a selected library of applications and tools they can download as designated by the IT team. All this can be customized as well, complete with branding, labels, categories and more.
On the security side, Kandji offers automated macOS patch management through its Auto Apps feature, a library of applications that Kandji pre-packs, hosts and automatically patches.
“It is vital that enterprises effectively manage and protect their employees’ devices within our ‘work from anywhere’ reality,” Adam Pettit, co-founder and chief executive officer of Kandji, said in a statement.
The company has a growing customer base of more than 1,000 clients in more than 40 global industries. Notable customers include Allbirds Inc., Attentive Mobile Inc., Belkin International Inc., Lacework Inc., Monzo Bank Ltd., Noom Inc., Rackspace Technology Inc., Remitly Inc. and Segment.io Inc. The company also said it logged a 700% increase in year-over-year revenue, though it didn’t reveal absolute numbers.
