TPG changes access management firm ThycoticCentrify’s name to Delinea

Privileged access management company ThycoticCentrify has dispensed with its awkward moniker, as owner TPG Capital today renamed it Delinea Inc.

ThycoticCentrify dates back to the merger of Thycotic Software Ltd. and Centrify Corp. in April. Thycotic and Centrify were acquired by TPG in March — Thycotic from Insight Partners and Centrify from Thoma Bravo.

The new brand identity of Delinea is said to underscore the significant progress of the combined company and a renewed commitment to providing comprehensive, cloud-ready solutions that put privileged access at the center of cybersecurity.

Delinea has as its mission to provide security that’s invisible to the user while simultaneously providing information technology and security teams with the control they require. According to Delinea, boundaries of access are easily defined to help customers reduce risk, ensure compliance and streamline security.

The company argues that as organizations continue their digital transformations, they’re faced with increasingly sophisticated environments and more challenging requirements for securing an expanded threat landscape. Legacy access management solutions are not designed for today’s hybrid environments, are too complex and cannot solve current privilege management challenges, according to Delinea.

Delinea’s solutions are designed to grant access to an organization’s most critical data, devices, code and cloud infrastructure using a centralized dashboard. Users get access when and where they need it, for as long as necessary to complete the task.

“One year ago, in partnership with the Thycotic and Centrify teams, we set out to build a dynamic identity security platform that delivers one of the most comprehensive product suites in the market,” said Tim Millikin, a partner at TPG Capital. “Today’s brand launch marks the next, exciting milestone in this journey. Delinea is introducing the next generation of cloud-based privileged access, purpose-built for enterprises operating in today’s hybrid, perimeterless and ever-evolving world.”

Notable Delinea customers include BAE Systems plc, Honda Motor Co., Cisco Systems Inc., the U.S. Department of Agriculture, ESPN Inc., BankUnited Inc., HubSpot Inc. and BP plc.
