LogMeIn rebrands as GoTo to reflect its mission of making IT easy anywhere

Fresh from announcing in December that it was spinning off LastPass as a separate company, LogMeIn Inc. announced today that it’s rebranding as GoTo to better reflect the company’s mission of making information technology management easy anywhere.

GoTo is an existing product within the LogMeIn portfolio. The change of name to GoTo goes beyond a new name and logo: The company also launched a simplified product portfolio with two flagship products. The two new products are a new IT management and support product called GoTo Resolve and a new experience for the unified-communications-as-a-service product, GoTo Connect.

GoTo Resolve is an all-in-one product that is designed to simplify small and medium business IT management and support, bringing together functionality from GoTo’s remote access, management and support capabilities with a new conversational ticketing and support toolset. GoTo Resolve uses zero-trust access controls that always verify an approach in which all sensitive actions – such as remote access and automation tasks – require a second, unique verification by anyone and everything.

GoTo Connect is a new unified-communications-as-a-service experience bringing together GoTo’s collaboration solutions in a new, secure unified application. The service includes cloud telephony, meetings, messaging, training and contact center capabilities. Additional features include Facebook integration for improved communications for customer-facing teams in their multi-channel portfolios and WebChat widgets that filter website visitor interactions directly into Chat queues.

The products are united by a single application, administrative system and converging user experience. The single application provides support and communications products, including a shared modern, intuitive administration experience for both GoTo Connect and GoTo Resolve.

The company has also launched a new partner program to further enable its growing ecosystem of partners around the globe.

GoTo said the motivation for the name change comes from listening to customers and users, including 1 billion people using GoTo products and a half-billion connections through the company’s remote access and support tools. “This announcement follows a yearlong internal company transformation with significant investment in innovation, unification and global go-to-market efforts,” Mike Kohlsdorf, GoTo president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. “While many providers in the space only solve for one point solution, GoTo is bringing together IT management and support and communications in one application in a completely new and unique way.”
