Coupa’s Community.ai initiative creates a network of BSM influencers

Leveraging technologies to create a valuable customer experience is essential for the growth of any company.

Coupa Software Inc. is taking this experience to the next level by creating an “influencer network” that connects hundreds of talented professionals. With its new Community.ai initiative, the company is breaking down barriers and bringing teams of individuals together to build a larger and better community aimed at benefiting from shared business experiences, according to Raja Hammoud (pictured), executive vice president of products at Coupa.

“You can only do so much when you try to do things alone. When we are doing things together, we are way more successful,” she said.

Coupa is providing analytics for expanding and networking with like-minded people, as well as learning various industry skills.

Hammoud spoke with theCUBE industry analyst Lisa Martin during the Coupa Inspire event, an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s live-streaming studio. They discussed Coupa’s focus on technology and innovation, its Business Spend Management platform, and back-office digital transformation. (* Disclosure below.)

Coupa builds dedicated network to connect professionals

Ensuring that companies share data across the industry for the benefit of all can be challenging, but Coupa believes that by using the proper tools, this goal is achievable in the near term.

In fact, Coupa leverages artificial intelligence to guide customers toward creating more effective long-term BSM goals. The company provides frequent updates for managers to keep up with their business strategies and achievements.

Even in challenging times, Coupa didn’t hesitate to continue with its “community creation” mission. For instance, during the pandemic, Coupa quickly transitioned to using Zoom to conduct virtual meetings to keep in touch with customers. They were able to help clients remain productive despite their operational challenges, according to Hammoud.

“It created a lot of avenues for us, because often you go and do these meetings in person. Now you could have a user-experience session with a customer very easily,” she explained.

To see positive results with new opportunities, Hammoud advises individuals not to fall into “analysis paralysis,” but rather commit to a project and work with it.

“Start with a project, get going, and it creates incredible momentum. Then you can move on from one to another,” she concluded.
