SECURITY

What to expect during the ‘Horizon3.ai Drives Global Partner-First Approach’ event: Join theCUBE Sept. 27

Most chief information security officers and chief information officers agree that security is a board-level issue. Far from the times when hacks often amounted to trivial or salvageable damage, today’s enterprises are battling with attacks that could cripple supply chain infrastructures and damage consumer perceptions irreparably.

Seeing companies struggle to constantly verify and reverify their security standing has brought about a new solutions niche … and one in which Horizon3 AI Inc. specializes. Automated penetration testing is Horizon3’s raison d’être and is offered through the company’s NodeZero tool, which will play a profound role as the company advances its partner program globally.

“Horison3’s new product and go-to-market strategy should take the benefits of NodeZero and take it global for partners and, more importantly, for customers to automate the tedious and expensive pentesting process and further automate observability and discovery for secure environments in the cloud and on premises,” said John Furrier, co-founder and CEO of SiliconANGLE Media Inc. and theCUBE industry analyst.

On Sept. 27, theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, and Horizon3 will broadcast a special “Horizon3 AI Drives Global Partner-First Approach” livestreamevent, interviewing company experts about preemptive enterprise cybersecurity and thought leadership advice to CIOs and CISOs for agile security infrastructures. (* Disclosure below.)

It isn’t all rocket science with malicious actors anymore

Previously, picturing a hacker at work would conjure images of a bespectacled, hyper-concentrated individual clanking out thousands of lines of code on a monitor. Nowadays, hacks often aren’t as tedious. From taking advantage of companies running outdated, and therefore vulnerable, software to masking attack procedures to mimic expected user behavior, these malicious craftsmen now span the complexity gamut, from simple to intricate.

“The threat landscape is that attackers don’t hack in, they log in,” said Snehal Antani, co-founder and chief executive officer of Horizon3, who spoke to theCUBE last month. “Organizations have to focus on getting the basics and fundamentals right first before they layer on some magic button that is some security AI tools, hoping that it’s going to save their day.”

Unequivocally, enterprises must answer this problem with the continuous observation and validation of their security posture. NodeZero is designed to be so simplistic that non-security personnel can deploy it, allowing the “trust, but verify” mantra to be possible company-wide.

Striding toward new horizons

Horizon3’s partner program covers the company’s efforts for managed service providers, managed security service providers, and consultants to offer NodeZero to customers — all as part of the company’s channel-led, go-to-market strategy. The program is being broadened as Horizon3 works to expand the reach of its disruptive technology, creating more opportunities for partners to better position themselves as trusted cybersecurity advisors and open up new revenue opportunities.

Having raised $30M in its recent Series-B round, the company’s ingenuity is being spearheaded by a CEO with defense experience from his time in the U.S Special Operations Command.

“What I wanted to do was proactively verify my security posture, make sure that my security tools were actually effective, that my people knew how to respond to a breach before the bad guys were there,” Antani told theCUBE. “And so this whole idea of continuously verifying my security posture through security testing became a passion project of mine for over a decade. And through my time in the DoD, I found the right group of people that had offensive and defensive cyber experience. And we came together at the end of 2019 to start Horizon3.”
