With Zscaler Inc., a cloud security company offering secure connections between applications and businesses, users can get the most out of the cloud while staying safe from growing cyber threats, according to Raveesh Chugh (pictured, right), vice president of public cloud partnerships at Zscaler.
Using the Amazon Web Services Inc. Marketplace, the company has seen broadened adoption and a surge in earnings, showcasing the effectiveness of the Marketplace and the AWS Partner Network.
“We see huge growth potential; there are more than 350,000 customers that are actively buying through Marketplace today. We expect that number to grow to around a million customers by the next five to 10 years, and we want to be part of this wave,” Chugh said. “We see AWS Marketplace as a channel where not only our resalers or our channel partners can come and transact, but also our government systems integrators, like Accenture, want to transact through this channel. We are doing a lot in terms of bringing new customers through Marketplace, who want to not only close their deals, but close it in the next few hours.”
Chugh and Stelio D’Alo (pictured, left), senior director of cloud business development at Zscaler, spoke with theCUBE industry analyst John Furrier at the AWS Marketplace Seller Conference, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the company’s experience with the AWS Marketplace, predictions about Zcaler’s growth, working on the dynamic edge and more. (* Disclosure below.)
Zscaler uses the cloud to protect and streamline connections between endpoints. With the growing user base and the Marketplace making Zscaler’s product more accessible, the company has predictions on how it will continue to grow.
“We are focused as a company on zero-trust architecture. We want to securely connect users to apps, apps to apps, workloads to workloads and machines to machines,” Chugh said. “We want to give customers an experience where they have direct access to the apps that are hidden from the outside world and they can securely connect to the apps in a very succinct fashion.”
The edge is also evolving and growing, highly dynamic and demanding high bandwidth, low latency, and the ability to compute directly on the devices. With Zscaler, the company can deliver low latency on the edge, able to operate as a computer, with the ability to be wherever its users need it, according to D’Alo.
Since the edge is so dynamic, businesses don’t have time to wait to buy solutions — they want to procure fast. The Marketplace offers the speed businesses are looking for, forgoing slow meetings and approvals normally needed for procurement.
“What if you had a pre-approved cloud budget, and that was spent primarily through AWS Marketplace because it’s consolidated data on your AWS invoice? The ability to purchase a proof of concept on the Marketplace could be done literally within minutes of the decision being made to go forward with it,” D’Alo said. “That agility purchasing process has allowed our customers to pull into the quarter, or the end of the month, or end of the quarter for them, deals that would’ve otherwise not been able to be done.”
