What to expect during the ‘Accelerate Hybrid Cloud’ event: Join theCUBE Oct. 12
In the modern enterprise world, agility is key, and being able to change direction swiftly can be a game-changer. The hybrid cloud concept was created for just these reasons, as it allows organizations the flexibility to use on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud resources to gain a competitive edge.
Join theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, as well as Nutanix and Microsoft on Oct. 12 at 12 p.m. PST for the exclusive “Accelerate Hybrid Cloud With Nutanix and Microsoft” event.
During the livestream, analyst Dave Vellante and industry experts from Nutanix and Microsoft will delve deeper into why hybrid cloud should be the new norm, what’s top of mind for CIOs seeking a better hybrid cloud experience, and how hybrid cloud will shape the future of cybersecurity solutions. Hybrid cloud delivers consistent operating model
Interoperability is one aspect that makes hybrid cloud tick, and a data fabric makes this a possibility. As a result, cloud computing operations are streamlined and enhances as the public cloud, on-prem data center, and private cloud become intertwined.
“Now, what most companies struggle with is every cloud is different; their on-prem is different, their edge is different, and they then have a scarcity of staff,” said Rajiv Ramaswami, president and chief executive officer of Nutanix, who spoke to theCUBE in August. “But you need to think about cloud as an operating model, and what the supercloud or hybrid multicloud delivers is really a consistent operating model.”
In the post-COVID era, organizations are looking for elasticity, agility and the ability to drive innovation without upfront investments. Remote work and digital experiences are also driving the need for cloud.
“Hybrid multicloud is the only cost-effective way to get there,” said Tarkan Maner, chief commercial officer of Nutanix, who spoke to theCUBE in June. “That cost is a big story … let us deal with the infrastructure for you while you focus on your time to market and the best applications for the best users.”
Nutanix expands into adjacent markets, boosts partnerships
Despite market turmoil, Nutanix sent shockwaves to Wall Street and industry analysts as its performance exceeded expectations for its fourth quarter and fiscal year that ended July 31, according to Steve McDowell of Moor Insights & Strategy, who spoke to SiliconANGLE in a recent conversation.
“Nobody expected them to do as well as they did,” McDowell pointed out. “They’ve had a rough year as the market cooled, and they just finished an expensive and foreboding round of layoffs. Nutanix is also bound by the server market, which has been lackluster.”
Nutanix’s subscription revenue growth most likely resulted from its expansion into adjacent markets, where it has delivered more cloudlike management capabilities within its portfolio, as well as the uncertainty around VMware Inc.’s pending acquisition by Broadcom Inc.
“Fiscal 2022 was an important data point in demonstrating the long-term benefits of our subscription business model transition,” Ramaswami stated. “We expect these benefits to compound further in the coming years as renewals become a bigger share of our business.”
The company’s partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprises Co. is also a stepping stone toward accelerating hybrid multicloud strategies. The collaboration seeks to offer the most frugal, shortest and cost-conscious avenue to achieve this goal.
“We abstract the complexity away for the customer,” Maner said. “HP GreenLake brings economic benefit; Nutanix brings experience. And all of a sudden, they’ve got time to value like they’ve never had before.”
