Solvo Data Posture Manager offers enhanced visibility into sensitive data

Adaptive cloud infrastructure security solutions startup Solvo today announced the general availability of Data Posture Manager, its new cloud data and infrastructure management solution for public cloud users.

Data Posture Manager is designed to deliver enhanced visibility into users and cloud components with sensitive data access. The service alerts organizations to excessive or newly granted privileges and enables one-click, real-time remediation of security policy violations, helping security teams combat overload, fatigue and lack of resources.

Solvo argues that 75% of security failures result from inadequate identity and access configurations. Sensitive data is often stored across multiple cloud environments, comes in contact with countless users and cloud entities, and is found in unexpected, vulnerable places. Solvo’s Data Posture Manager is aimed at addressing the issue by uncovering risky cloud entitlements to show organizations which entities have access to sensitive data at any given time.

The platform prioritizes findings based on risks, vulnerabilities and business impact. The platform is claimed to be the first to combine runtime application analysis, infrastructure security and data posture management capabilities to support research and development, DevOps and security teams. The goal is to protect organizations from cloud misconfigurations, data leakage and breaches.

“Our mission is to empower organizations to innovate at cloud speed and scale by supporting chief information security officers and security teams in preventing data exposure and risk,” Shira Shamban, co-founder and chief executive of Solvo, said in a statement. “Data Posture Manager brings together visibility, governance, prioritization and remediation capabilities to ensure that data resources are protected from unauthorized entities across all cloud environments along with vulnerabilities on computing assets that can affect the data resources.”

Solvo has raised $11 million in venture capital funding from Surround Ventures and TLV Partners, according to Crunchbase. Shamban was previously the data initiative lead at Dome9 Security Inc., now part of Check Point Software Technologies Inc.
