PlainID Technology Network offers secure authorization and access control

Identity and access control startup PlainID Inc. today launched a new network designed to deliver technology that helps organizations securely transform their authorization and access control.

The PlainID Technology Network, developed with PlainID partners, offers identity-aware security across all segments of the enterprise technology stack by optimizing integration with mission-critical adjacent technologies. The goal of the service is to provide partners with complete visibility and control of who can access what, when and on whose authority.

Network partners work together by leveraging PlainID’s prebuilt and customized authorization integrations supporting technologies across identity and access management, identity governance and administration, data, application programming interfaces, microservices and secure access service edge.

Partners gain access to PlainID’s “Authorizers,” the company’s off-the-shelf approach to managing and enforcing authorization policies. Access to advanced controls also allows users to secure access to API gateways, data hubs, microservices, applications, identity providers and IGA technologies.

“Authorization is managing, controlling and enforcing the connections of identities that determine which resources, data, functions, and apps people can access,” Gal Helemski, co-founder and chief product officer at PlainID, said in a statement. “We are simply tackling the biggest challenge in the IAM space. Our Network aims to solve this by providing ready-to-use solutions that integrate into the world’s leading technologies.”

PlainID argues that with the rapid growth of data, there’s growing pressure on enterprises and their security and data teams to ensure data is not exposed to unauthorized users. PlainID’s Network helps businesses advance and modernize by simply and securely connecting people with the digital assets they need to do their jobs, accomplish tasks at large scale, and conduct digital commerce.

PlainID Network members include Snowflake Inc., Dremio Corp., Okta Inc., SailPoint Technologies Inc., Apigee, Denodo Technologies Inc. and BigQuery.

The company is a venture capital-backed startup, having most recently raised $75 million in a round this time last year. Investors include Insight Partners, Itai Tsiddon, Viola Ventures, Springtide Ventures, INCapital Ventures and iAngels.
