New OpenText release helps customers accelerate cloud-based digital transformation

Enterprise software provider OpenText Corp. today announced Cloud Editions 23.1, the latest technology innovation on its Project Titanium roadmap.

The new release, pitched as the company’s next-generation cloud platform, is designed to assist customers in accelerating their cloud-based digital transformation and adopting future artificial intelligence-based applications. With CE 23.1, businesses can connect and collaborate seamlessly with customers, partners and employees across their ecosystem and work more responsibly by using technology that addresses new rules and regulations.

CE 23.1 address the issue of security becoming progressively more complex because of increasing threat vector sophistication and data silos in the hybrid work environment. The release simplifies administration and visibility across attack surfaces with the introduction of OpenText Webroot Standalone DNS Protection and the availability of the OpenText Webroot portfolio through the Secure Cloud platform.

OpenText Webroot Standalone DNS Protection extends network protection by integrating with existing endpoint protection platform investments. The service provides protection for network and roaming users against malware and DNS-based attacks while maintaining privacy and visibility into internet usage without compromising security or experience.

Through the integration of the OpenText Webroot portfolio within the company’s Secure Cloud suite of solutions, managed service providers can extend protection across attack surfaces via a single interface. Using the service, MSPs can deliver a full suite of security, compliance and productivity solutions to scale to their customers, according to OpenText.

CE 23.1 includes integrated solutions for Salesforce Inc., SAP SE and Microsoft, available through each company’s respective online marketplaces: the Salesforce AppExchange, SAP Store and the Microsoft AppSource.

The release also includes new cloud content services solutions for the U.S. public sector and life sciences organizations, including enhanced support for FedRAMP, the Federal Risk and Authentication Management Program.

“In the next stage of digital where organizations of all sizes are becoming software and information companies, OpenText can bring the information management multiplier needed to accelerate new ways of working,” Mark J. Barrenechea, chief executive and chief technology officer of OpenText, said in a statement. “The OpenText Cloud, through Project Titanium, is leading digital transformation, delivering on our promise of open, integrated cloud management by bringing information and automation together for businesses and customers.”

OpenText was last in the news on Feb. 2 when it reported mixed financial results and announced that it had completed its purchase of Micro Focus International plc. The $6 billion acquisition, announced in August, allows OpenText to gain a presence in parts of the enterprise technology market where it isn’t an established player and also expands its core portfolio of products for managing business records.
