Security access solutions startup Oleria launches with $8M in seed funding

Adaptive and autonomous security access solutions startup Oleria today launched with $8 million in funding raised from Tapestry Venture Capital LLC and angel investors, including chief executive officers and chief information security officers of prominent tech and security companies.

Founded by former Salesforce Inc. Chief Trust Officer Jim Alkove (pictured) and identity solutions product executive and former JumpCloud Inc. Chief Product Officer Jagadeesh Kunda, Oleria’s solution removes the need to choose between security and speed of innovation. The company provides adaptive security solutions that enable organizations and their chief information security officers to respond to their ever-changing access needs.

“I’ve spent my career in some of the largest companies in the world and have been continuously frustrated by the efforts expended to give just the right people the right access at the right time, only to be disappointed time and again,” Oleria co-founder and CEO Alkove said ahead of the launch. “Oleria provides adaptive and autonomous security that scales with businesses and provides the freedom to pursue business objectives while offering CISOs peace of mind that access is appropriate and risk is minimized.”

Oleria is also seeking to address the issue wherein identity-first security strategies are predicted to fail unless organizations adopt context-based access policies that are continuous and consistent.

The company’s solution meets those demands by providing appropriate access to the right users, at the right time and duration, all with a relentless focus on user experience. Olieria’s platform continuously assesses and validates the people, applications and assets involved in each digital interaction and adapts to the specific contexts and changing needs.

Oleria’s founders have substantial experience leading security and product development at companies that include Microsoft Corp., Salesforce Inc., Amazon Web Services Inc., Oracle Corp. and Google Nest.
