AaDya, a cybersecurity startup for small and midsized businesses, raises $5M

Cybersecurity startup AaDya Security Inc. today announced that it has raised $5 million in new funding to expand its sales team and accelerate the growth of its channel program partners serving small and midsized business customers.

Founded in 2019, Aadya provides cybersecurity services to small and medium-sized enterprises through its “Judy” platform. The company partners with managed service providers, managed security service providers and resellers to protect customer data.

Aadya’s Judy is pitched to potential customers as “the only all-in-one cybersecurity solution that’s easy to install, easy to manage and provides the 24/7 protection and support you deserve.” The service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technology with security features designed to deliver everything SMEs need.

The platform is said to empower customers to protect their businesses from threats and meet increasingly strict regulations and compliance requirements related to data security and access. Judy can also be used by MSPs and MSSPs looking to scale u[ or streamline their security offerings by automating and simplifying security tasks and monitoring.

“The entire idea and mission behind AaDya Security is serving a population that many of the major players within the cybersecurity industry have avoided due to its cumbersome nature and revenue potential,” AaDya founder Raffaele Mautone said in a statement. “We see this differently. With the combination of a vast universe of [small to medium businesses] who have been underserved and the rise in cybercrime against them, we saw an opportunity to not only create something innovative but something that could truly help a segment that comprises the majority of economic activity, not just in North America, but across the globe.”

Left Lane Capital led the Series A round, with 645 Ventures, Firebrand Ventures, Gaingels and Invest Detroit participating.

AaDya also announced a new board of directors, which is primarily female, rare in the cybersecurity industry. Board members include Julie Cullivan, former chief information officer at both Forescout Technologies Inc. and FireEye Inc., along with Didi Dayton, former vice president of product management at Salesforce Inc., and Laura Sillman from Left Lane Capital.
