Automation Anywhere debuts generative AI services for business users and developers

Robotic process automation provider Automation Anywhere Inc. today announced three new services incorporating generative artificial intelligence into its Automation Success Platform.

The new releases are aimed at accelerating business productivity and deliver on the company’s mission to help every company build a digital workforce.

Automation Anywhere argues that generative AI, implemented through its platform, is a critical solution to addressing productivity gaps. The company’s platform is pitched as unlocking the potential of generative AI to transform business processes while simultaneously encouraging customers to use AI responsibly.

Automation Co-Pilot + Generative AI for Business Users leads the list of announcements. Powered by a generative pretrained transformer, the service enhances team productivity by allowing users to use generative AI across various systems, including activities such as summarizing content and sending emails.

The second release, Automation Co-Pilot + Generative AI for Automators, is designed to embed generative AI into the developer experience, enabling professional developers and business users to transform conversations into automation. The service does so through a natural language conversation with the Automation Co-Pilot, automating development and accelerating the return on investment.

The last release, Document Automation + Generative AI, uses generative AI for swift comprehension, extraction and summarization of data from various document types. The service supports structured, semistructured and unstructured documents, expanding the types of data that can be processed. Once extracted, the data is directly integrated into a process workflow, eliminating the need for additional data handling.

Automation Anywhere emphasized that its platform maintains high security, privacy and compliance standards to ensure responsible AI use. Features include user guardrails, human feedback and oversight options, and built-in data privacy measures.

“Every company is in the midst of a productivity crisis,” co-founder and Chief Executive Mihir Shukla said ahead of the announcement. “However, the combination of generative AI and automation has given us the power to unlock this next wave of productivity, completely transforming the way we work. The Automation Success Platform provides new and creative [solutions] for everyday business challenges beyond chat. It’s about doing — from quickly responding to emails to generating new automations on-demand.”

Automation Anywhere is a venture capital-backed startup, having raised $1.1 billion, including a raise of $200 million in October. Investors include Hercules Capital Inc., SVB Capital Partners LLC, Axevil Capital LLC, Investlink Holdings LLC and Veligera Capital LP.
