Navigating the digital era: How HPE supports businesses with sustainable digital transformations

Data and computing transformations are gaining momentum as the world is thrust into a digital era, but finding the right solution for every business can be tough.

With a variety of cloud providers and services available, it’s common for tech leaders to feel overwhelmed when confronting the need to enter the evolving technological landscape. Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. works intimately with its clients across industries to drive their transformations, helping their businesses achieve their goals while remaining sustainable, according to Sue Preston (pictured), vice president of worldwide advisory and professional services for HPE Global Sales.

“What we have is a Digital Next Advisory, which is a digital journey map,” she said. “We can take customers on their journey from, for example, a retail experience. If they want to prevent customer churn, we look at how we drive those opportunities with engaging on the digital journey map, and then we strongly follow that because, then, customers say to me, ‘How?’ Then we have the edge-to-cloud adoption framework, which we can take them from A to B to get to that outcome.”

Preston spoke with theCUBE industry analysts Lisa Martin and Rob Strechay at HPE Discover, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how HPE helps its clients on their digital journeys, how new technologies and guidelines are shaping these journeys, and how to ensure sustainability. (* Disclosure below.)

A sustainable, digital future

One recent, big change in technology that’s majorly influenced the market is the focus on environmental, social and corporate governance compliance. Clients must ensure that while traversing their digital transformation journey, they adhere to specific guidelines and do their best to ensure sustainability.

“According to the International Data Corporation, 65% of chief information officers are going to their hardware vendor first,” Preston said. “Looking at Accenture, those customers that are driving their digital transformation with their IT sustainability are two-and-a-half times more likely to be the most performing brands.”

One big disruption companies are facing is the introduction of more advanced and generative artificial intelligence. This technology introduces new security concerns, as well as requiring powerful processors and large-scale cloud providers lending their support. HPE instead harnesses the benefits of AI to simplify its clients’ journeys and improve sustainability, Preston explained.

“With IT and sustainability, there are datasets that you can acquire that then can look at where are you to go best first to go and drive those outcomes with those customers,” she said. “We use that internally and in our operations, looking at how we can predict and fix issues quickly prior to then having to send a field engineer to the site.”
