OpenText expands relationship with Google Cloud to deliver AI-powered integrations

Enterprise software provider OpenText Corp. today announced an expansion of its strategic relationship with Google Cloud to deliver artificial intelligence-powered integrations that will help organizations turn their information on the cloud platform into a competitive advantage.

The companies say the “co-innovation roadmap” of OpenText’s information management solutions and Google Cloud’s AI capabilities will accelerate how organizations of all sizes can get insights quickly, boost productivity and transform customer experiences.

The new solutions announced today include generative AI applications that use Google’s Vertex AI, spanning research and development, application delivery, business support and sales and marketing. OpenText Core for Google Workspace now includes integrated collaboration, content management and Google Vertex AI-powered insights for a seamless digital employee experience. To accelerate the cloud migration journey for customers on mainframe infrastructure, the new features include the ability to leverage Google solutions such as Google Dual Run to run the same workloads on-premises and in the cloud.

Generative AI is at the core of the expanded relationship, with OpenText co-innovating with Google Vertex AI and the Palm2 large language model to provide solutions and improve outcomes for various use cases. They include transforming the customer and employee support experience, accelerating omnichannel communications at large scale, simplifying sales enablement and delivering software applications effectively.

As part of the partnership, OpenText is also launching a new integration with Google Workspace. The collaboration will enable OpenText Core users to explore their vast repositories within Google Workspace workflows. With the integrated solution, employees can easily access, manage and edit documentation across repositories and applications for any business process, such as hire-to-retire for human resources, procure-to-pay for finance and design-to-market for research and development.

More features are also on its way, with future AI capabilities in OpenText Aviator on the Content Cloud using Vertex AI currently under development. The combination will deliver potential uses such as the ability to use conversational search via a chat assistant to engage, find and retrieve answers and documents across multiple languages.

“Whether it is service management or application delivery, together we are bringing customers the ability to start their AI journey while leveraging secure, private data networks and repositories hosted by OpenText,” Mark Barrenechea, chief executive officer and chief technology officer of OpenText, said ahead of the announcement. “Our partnership with Google is going to allow us to jointly apply our advanced technologies and data governance expertise to needed areas of healthcare, financial services, climate, governments and more.”
