New Code42 release offers training for Insider Risk Management programs

Insider risk management company Code42 Software Inc. today announced the release of IRM Program Launchpad, a training offering for Code42 customers to help launch and mature its IRM program, increase program effectiveness and maximize program return on investment.

IRM Program Launchpad has been designed to address the issue where building an effective data protection program can be challenging for security teams with limited time and resources. Code42 argues that teams often leverage cybersecurity tools without adopting an integrated approach that addresses the human elements and the organizational processes crucial to success, creating potentially damaging cybersecurity gaps.

The IRM Program Launchpad gives Code42 customers access to a range of training modules, tools and templates to help stop data loss from insiders. The resources help customers address hurdles to maintaining an effective IRM program, such as where to start when creating an IRM program, how to win over stakeholders and communicate their roles in data protection, how to maintain employee privacy and community expectations with employees, and how to perform effective investigation and response.

The new program also works alongside the Code42 Incydr data protection solution to help security teams quickly identify and remediate data exfiltration events. Security teams can easily adjust their response to different severities of unacceptable user activity and automatically send tailored micro-trainings to correct employee mistakes. Incydr contains insider threats and increases the speed of investigations via integrated controls with endpoint detection and response and identity and access management products, case management and access to file contents.

“Integrating processes, people and tech can be overwhelming for security teams, so our IRM Program Launchpad makes it simple for security teams to protect critical organizational data efficiently,” Vijay Ramanathan, senior vice president of ecosystem, education and expert services at Code42, said ahead of the release. “We’ve done the hard work of thinking through the challenges and putting together best practices so that our customers can hit the ground running and start getting value faster.”

Code42 is a venture capital-backed startup, having raised $139 million to date, according to Tracxn, including a round of $85 million in 2015. Investors in the company include New Enterprise Associates LP, JMI Equity LLC, Accel Partners LP, Split Rock Partners LLC and Dropbox Inc.
