Cloudflare Inc. is seeing trends in zero trust that prioritize quick deployment, efficiency and ease of use with its massive global edge network and pace of innovation being key factors in its success.

“Managers, they want something that is able to be deployed very quickly, and they want something that’s able to be deployed very efficiently,” said Chris Lopez (pictured), technical marketing engineer at Cloudflare. “We offer clientless onboarding. We offer clientless web isolation to be able to isolate unsecured traffic. And the ease of use of it is really becoming key.”

Lopez spoke with theCUBE industry analysts Rebecca Knight and John Furrier at the mWISE Conference, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the global edge network, pace of innovation and artificial intelligence applications. (* Disclosure below.)

Interacting with the community

The demographic, particularly individuals below the age of 30, plays a role in the advancement of AI technology, resulting in a revitalization of the developer community. Cloudflare interacts with developers by offering trained AI models and enabling them to create applications on Cloudflare’s network, according to Lopez. Their implementation of zero trust entails utilizing their edge network to provide services eliminating the necessity for configurations and hardware.

AI is currently a popular subject throughout the world, and there is a certain level of fear surrounding it. Lopez expresses interest, however, in observing the progress made in AI models. Cloudflare also anticipates that in the future AI will be seamlessly incorporated as a helpful assistant capable of understanding and implementing natural language commands to develop applications and enforce regulations.

“I think that someone might integrate AI in a really effective way. You basically have an assistant who would show up and say, ‘Hey, what do you want to build?’” Lopez said. “And you don’t have to give very precise instructions. You say, ‘Hey, I just need to onboard this application, and I need to apply these rules around it.’ And it’ll be able to interpret that through natural language to say, ‘Build this policy, and build these tunnels, and they’re going to go here.’ I think that’d be really cool.”
