Application security posture management platform startup Legit Security raises $40M

Application security posture management platform startup Legit Security Ltd. today announced that it has raised $40 million in new funding to expand its sales, marketing and research and development efforts and to address the emerging threat of artificial intelligence and large language models in the development of new applications.

Founded in 2021, Legit Security offers an ASPM platform that enables secure application delivery and protects software supply chains from attack. The platform reduces application risk through discovery, analysis, correlation and remediation of application vulnerabilities from code development to cloud deployment.

Legit Security pitches its platform as allowing users to stay safe while releasing software fast by automatically discovering security issues from code to cloud, remediating threats and ensuring the integrity of every software release. The service delivers visibility and security control over changing development environments with a unified application security control plane, the company claims, leveraging valuable context and traceability from code to the cloud to prioritize security issues and streamline vulnerability management.

Key benefits of the platform are said to include productivity gains, with the platform consolidating vulnerabilities, streamlining risk evaluations and automating remediation. In doing so, the platform is claimed to lower costs by eliminating security control redundancies and optimizing their placement.

The Legit Security ASPM platform also offers compliance checking, with real-time risk scoring, regular gap analysis and continuous drift monitoring.

Legit Security has among its customers Fortune 500 companies. Notable customers include Google LLC, the New York Stock Exchange, Kraft Heinz Co., Netskope Inc., Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.

Charles River Ventures LLC led the funding round, with existing investors Cyberstarts Inc., Bessemer Venture Partners LLC and Technology Crossover Ventures LLC also participating.

“We founded Legit Security with the mission to secure the world’s software with a platform that continuously manages application security from code to cloud,” Roni Fuchs, co-founder and chief executive officer of Legit Security, said in a statement.
