US Signal looks to be the bridge from VMware to vital industries

As VMware’s cloud technologies look to evolve under its acquisition by Broadcom, US Signal Co. LLC is positioning itself as the middleman between VMware Inc. and Midwestern regional companies.

US Signal aims to provide a “single management console to kind of rule the world,” says John White (pictured), the chief operating officer of US Signal, who frames the VMware partnership as a “one-stop shop to really help the enterprises… solve their IT needs.”

White spoke with theCUBE industry analysts Lisa Martin and Rob Strechay at VMware Explore 2023, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed new developments in the world of cloud and data management and the need for an intermediary between companies and cloud industry giants. (* Disclosure below.)

Providing ‘VMware by the drip’

US Signal, the cloud services provider, was purchased by Igneo Infrastructure Partners at the beginning of the year. It works with VMware to supply cloud management and data center services to Midwest companies, providing what White calls “VMware by the drip.”

As VMware debuts NSX+, a new extension of VMware’s NSX multicloud networking software that offers a more secure cloud-managed service for multicloud environments, US Signal continues to position itself as a reliable go-between for Midwestern companies. US Signal addresses the “huge simplification problem” by acting as an “intermediary gap” that incorporates the public cloud, data centers and cloud services, such as what VMware provides, into one hybrid supercloud for its customers, according to White.

“We own the fiber,” he added, referencing US Signal’s own fiber network. “So we can guarantee the SLAs. We can guarantee the recovery times. We can guarantee that we’re building these redundant rings to keep it all protected and make sure that the network stays up so you can run the applications.”

This kind of reliability is crucial for healthcare institutions that have life-and-death consequences for network delays. US Signal has continued to hone in on healthcare and manufacturing with the intention of addressing such latencies, according to White.

Moving into the future, US Signal is ready to cement its position as the most reliable and streamlined option for businesses while “maintaining that customer inside of the VMware ecosystem,” he said, “And then figuring out how to just help them grow in the future.”
