UiPath and SAP partner to deliver automation, acceleration and agility

As digitization sweeps across the world of business and industry, companies are trying to catch up with the need for fast, reliable data processing.

UiPath and SAP SE look to provide that through smooth and speedy automation that replaces tedious human labor with efficient software.

“You have to have automation at the core to keep the core clean, and to really build it with humans and machines working side by side,” said Jen McDonald (pictured, left), area vice president at UiPath Inc. “That’s the future.”

McDonald and Kerri Tenbrunsel (pictured, right), senior vice president, general manager and head of business technology platform, North America, at SAP, spoke with theCUBE industry analysts Rebecca Knight and Lisa Martin at the UiPath FORWARD event, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed their partnership and the ways in which automation is changing how businesses operate. (* Disclosure below.)

A perfect synergy

UiPath and SAP have a shared DNA, emphasized McDonald, who worked at SAP for 8 years before moving to UiPath. This allows their partnership to move at what Tenbrunsel calls a “rapid pace.”

“We do have the cultural fit, but more than anything, we have to have a technology fit,” Tenbrunsel said. She marks “point of entry” for UiPath at SAP as BTP, SAP’s business technology platform, which brings together automation, artificial intelligence software and data analytics into one platform.

“[BTP] goes across the entire intelligent enterprise, regardless of your industry,” Tenbrunsel said. “With UiPath’s help, this is where we bring together the best of both worlds, to identify and maximize the impact that we can have in every situation.”

When it comes to serving their clients, “The goal is not to automate. The goal is what are you trying to do as an organization,” McDonald said. UiPath’s robotic process automation technology, RPA, allows companies to automate everyday, repetitive tasks such as data entry with software that emulates human actions. This helps companies digitize with greater ease and agility.

McDonald and Tenbrunsel plan on maintaining the partnership’s momentum. “It’s absolutely critical that we can extend to our customers the opportunity to run faster, run better, run smarter,” Tenbrunsel said.
