Orca Security teams with Google Cloud’s Vertex AI for automated code generation

Cloud cybersecurity startup Orca Security Ltd. today announced a new integration with Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform for automated code generation and enhanced risk remediation to improve security outcomes.

The integration is part of an expanded partnership between Orca and Google LLC to provide organizations with an intelligent security assistant to rapidly generate remediation code for identified risks. The assistant also has lower skill thresholds, allowing for enhanced productivity and for security professionals to quickly and efficiently secure cloud assets at scale.

Orca says the newly expanded portfolio of AI engines offers customers the flexibility to use an engine that best meets their unique security needs and maximizes the accuracy and value of the results.

“With the industry facing a serious cybersecurity skills shortage, partnering with Google Cloud was a natural step forward in enhancing Orca’s code generation capabilities to reduce the specialized skills required for effective cloud security,” said Gil Geron, chief executive officer and co-founder of Orca Security. “Our enhanced risk remediation helps security teams reduce workloads, burnout and turnover while at the same time significantly improving cloud security postures.”

Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform, which was launched in May 2021, simplifies the machine learning lifecycle, enabling developers and data scientists to build custom machine learning models with minimal coding. With Orca’s Vertex AI integration, the companies said, mean time to remediation is significantly reduced, with security practitioners able to generate remediation instructions for each security alert. Users can also directly copy and paste code into a command line interface or Infrastructure as Code provisioning tools or follow steps in a console.

The Vertex AI integration expands upon Orca’s existing partnership with Google Cloud, which includes integrations with Google Workspace and several Google Cloud security products, including Google Cloud’s Chronicle, Security Command Center and VirusTotal.

“Cybersecurity remains a critical component of every enterprise’s digital transformation strategy,” Vineet Bhan, global head of security partnerships at Google Cloud, said ahead of the announcement. “By utilizing Vertex AI, Orca will power new capabilities that can improve cybersecurity posture and help businesses better protect their organizations.”
