Swan AI and Persistent Systems team up for enhanced patient care and operational efficiency
In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, a major change is taking place — one fueled by the fusion of cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence.
Persistent Systems Ltd. and Swan AI Studios are looking to harness the power of AI and machine learning to reshape healthcare, improve patient engagement and streamline administrative processes.
“We want to make sure that we are improving patient engagement, customer consumer engagement — it’s a common complaint across the board,” said Ranju Das (pictured, right), founder and chief executive officer of Swan AI. “Keeping in mind how to reduce the healthcare inequity that exists, the disparity of access that exists, that’s what we are excited about.”
Das and Rahul Bajaj (left), senior vice president of Microsoft sales at Persistent Systems, spoke with theCUBE’s Rebecca Knight as part of an exclusive CUBE Conversation, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the collaboration between Swan AI and Persistent Systems and explored the AI-driven solutions poised to revolutionize the healthcare industry, one innovation at a time. Revolutionizing healthcare with AI solutions
Swan AI, a recently launched healthcare company, is on a mission to invent platforms and build companies at the unique intersection of healthcare, technology and machine learning. The advent of machine learning has disrupted every industry, including healthcare, according to Das. Swan AI is using AI to elevate patient engagement and ultimately improve healthcare outcomes for all.
“There’s a lot of an impact of AI/ML into healthcare already, and we are trying to harness that focus towards administrative efficiency for payers and providers,” Das said.
Persistent is a company with a history spanning 33 years. It has evolved from being a leader in software engineering to a pioneer in digital engineering and enterprise monetization. The company’s expertise in healthcare, particularly in genomics, positioned it to meet the challenges presented by Swan AI, according to Bajaj.
“At Persistent, we’ve been incubating gen AI for a while now, ensuring we have the right pool of resources for engagement like this,” he said. “I think the approach came out naturally.”
Balancing quality and speed
Persistent and Swan AI have a long-standing relationship and a history of collaboration across various roles and projects. A trusted partnership is important, according to Das, especially when dealing with time-sensitive, high-quality solutions. The speed-to-market and the need for a delicate balance between quality and speed led Swan AI to collaborate with Persistent Systems.
“Quality is an important part of earning that credibility and trust with the market,” Das said. “It was an easy decision for me to look into a partner that I’ve worked with many years … to collaborate with [Persistent] in trying to solve some meaningfully impactful problems that have that time-to-market high-quality need and a sensitivity from a customer, a vendor … of that balance of quality and speed.”
The two companies are addressing specific problems, one of which is enhancing patient engagement by leveraging AI to bridge the gap between healthcare providers, patients and the healthcare system.
“There’s a lot of administrative inefficiencies,” Das said. “From your claims to your payments to how you schedule. Can we help with machine learning and technology? We brought some edge computing to that problem, and we were able to solve it with some very high efficiency [and] with very high accuracy.”
Responding to evolving customer needs and delivering on their requests without overburdening the development and operations teams is an important part of Persistent’s customer-centric approach, Bajaj noted.
“You have to find the right capability, but to get it done right on time is always key,” he said. “It’s challenging sometimes … those were the few things that we were always focused on, that we have the right team available at the right time.”
