Skyhigh Security launches AI-powered DLP Assistant to streamline data classification

Enterprise cloud data protection company Skyhigh Security LLC today introduced an artificial intelligence-powered data loss protection assistant designed to help simplify complex DLP tasks.

Offered as part of the Skyhigh Security Service Edge Portfolio, the AI assistant allows customers to create complex data classifications based on natural language expressions. The ability is claimed to increase operational efficiencies and minimize inaccuracies stemming from human error, such as false positives or false negatives.

The DLP Assistant supports queries in multiple languages and allows users to create, test and validate customer data classifications easily and quickly. The solution saves time by quickly generating instant classifiers and producing tailored expressions for scenarios where custom predefined classifications are needed.

The assistant reduces complexity and bridges knowledge gaps by harnessing AI to create complex expressions. The use of AI is said to eliminate the need for extensive “Regular Expression” or RegEx knowledge or access to specialized AI applications, making the technology accessible and user-friendly.

The assistant also enhances classification accuracy and precision, the company says. The DLP Assistant improves classification accuracy by providing instant creation and validation of accurate and precise regular expression recommendations. The recommendations are exclusively in Google RE2 format, a RegEx syntax developed by Google LLC designed to avoid common pitfalls and vulnerabilities with other RegEx libraries.

Lastly, Skyhigh says, the AI assistant allows users to construct and build highly complex expressions through an intuitive, conversation-based interface. The approach simplifies the process of dealing with complicated data patterns, making it more accessible and less daunting for users who may not be experts in regular expressions or AI technologies.

“Companies across all industries are integrating AI into their workflows for its creativity, efficiency and timesaving benefits,” said Kelly Elliott, Skyhigh’s director of product marketing. “Our RegEx tool harnesses the power of AI to address the pressing customer challenge of classifying sensitive data quickly and accurately at scale.”
