SentinelOne announces new services to bolster enterprise threat detection and response

Cybersecurity firm SentinelOne Inc. today announced the general availability of WatchTower and WatchTower Pro, two new managed threat-hunting services designed to help support security teams in anticipating and countering threats in the enterprise.

The two services were created to tackle the issue wherein organizations face a relentless pace of sophisticated cyberattacks that they must be able to detect and neutralize swiftly to keep their assets and infrastructure safe. SentinelOne argues that many lack the time and resources to pull this off, which is where WatchTower and WatchTower Pro step in.

WatchTower delivers intelligence-driven threat hunting, backed by expert human analysis, to identify emergent attackers and maximize threat visibility across every part of the business.

Features include 24/7 real-time threat hunting, detection of anomalous and suspicious behavior, broader coverage against both known and emergent threats and access to WatchTower’s comprehensive in-house threat intelligence library. The library includes behavioral hunting queries, indicators of compromise and other crucial security resources.

Using WatchTower, security teams are said to be better equipped to gain essential visibility and insights. Users can proactively manage their organization’s security and improve their overall risk posture.

“Limited visibility into potential security breaches and increases in the volume and intricacy of attacks have significantly expanded the risk exposure of businesses and there is a critical shortage of skilled security professionals to mitigate it,” said Brian Hussey, vice president of threat hunting and DFIR at SentinelOne. “With the expanded threat hunting capabilities now available as part of WatchTower and WatchTower Pro, customers can tap into SentinelOne’s unparalleled threat intelligence and leverage our security experts to quickly overcome these challenges and keep their business secure.”

The expanded threat-hunting capabilities offered by WatchTower and WatchTower Pro are available to SentinelOne customers starting today. The service will also be available through managed security providers offering SentinelOne services.

SentinelOne was last in the news on Jan. 3 when it announced it had agreed to acquire cloud-native application protection platform startup PingSafe Pte. Ltd. for an undisclosed price. SentinelOne plans to integrate PingSafe’s CNAPP into its Singularity Platform, delivering what is claimed to be a “paradigm shift in cloud security.”
