New ‘AI Governance’ solution from Securiti aims to streamline AI model compliance
Unified data control startup Securiti Inc. today announced the release of “AI Governance,” a new solution that offers comprehensive management of artificial intelligence compliance and risk across organizations.
AI Governance combines discovery and mapping of AI models, risk evaluation, and data privacy and security controls. The solution also helps organizations adhere to standards such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology Artificial Intelligence Risk Management Framework, the European Union Artificial Intelligence Act and more than 20 other regulations.
Securiti argues that as businesses are increasingly becoming reliant on AI for decision-making, automation and innovation, the advent of generative AI has made the need to safeguard trust, transparency and compliance more critical than ever. Built on Securiti’s Data Command Center, the new AI Governance solution allows organizations to navigate the challenges of generative AI, make informed decisions, optimize operational efficiencies and build trust.
Key features of AI Governance include capabilities designed to enhance user understanding and management of AI systems. AI Model Discovery offers organizations a clear understanding of their AI ecosystem by identifying and cataloging AI models spread across public clouds, software-as-a-service applications and private environments.
A rigorous risk assessment process evaluates the risks associated with data and AI models from infrastructure as a service and SaaS sources, further classifying AI models to meet global regulatory standards. Doing so ensures organizations have a clear grasp of their AI-related vulnerabilities and compliance status.
The solution also provides continuous mapping and monitoring of data and AI flows, bridging AI models with their data sources, processing paths, vendors, potential risks and compliance obligations. Advanced data and AI controls are put in place to establish stringent data management protocols for both the inputs and outputs from AI models, ensuring the secure handling of sensitive information throughout its lifecycle.
“AI systems are integral to business operations, but without proper governance structures, organizations face risks ranging from shadow AI to data privacy and regulatory compliance,” said Chief Executive Rehan Jalil. “The absence of proper governance structures can also lead to legal penalties, reputational damage, operational inefficiencies and flawed business decisions.”
Securiti is a venture capital-backed startup, having raised a round of $75 million in October 2022 before taking further funding in March 2023. Investors include Citi Ventures LLC, Capital One Financial Corp., Mayfield Fund and General Catalyst Group Management LLC.
