Cayosoft raises $22.5M for advanced Active Directory management and recovery solutions

Microsoft Active Directory management, monitoring and recovery startup Cayosoft Inc. today announced that it has raised $22.5 million in new funding from Centana Growth Partners LP to accelerate its go-to-market initiatives and for international expansion.

Founded in 2018, Cayosoft offers a unified solution that allows organizations to manage, continuously monitor for threats and quickly recover their Microsoft platforms, including on-premises Active Directory, hybrid AD, Entra ID and Office 365.

Cayosoft is said to differ from legacy systems by offering builds with hybrid, cloud and mobile users in mind to support an organization throughout its cloud journey. Organizations can use the company’s service to manage roles, rules and automation for Active Directory user governance while monitoring for critical changes, risks, vulnerabilities and threats that could compromise operations.

The Cayosoft platform also offers recovery services, allowing organizations to recover from simple objects up to multiple forests — the highest-level organizational structure within Active Directory, encompassing one or more domains that manage network identities and relationships. The company claims it’s the only provider offering instant forest recovery and delivering AD forest recovery in minutes versus multiple hours, days or even weeks with traditional methods.

Cayosoft claims 175% year-over-year growth in 2023 and 480% revenue growth since 2017, though it didn’t provide absolute numbers. The company has seen a highly impressive 99% customer retention rate over the past five years, with a customer satisfaction rate of 4.5 out of 5.

“Active Directory outages are a universal issue with immense financial and operational implications for businesses of every size and the market opportunity for a truly instant recovery solution is undeniable,” Eric Byunn, a partner at Centana Growth Partners, commented ahead of the announcement. “Cayosoft has developed a game-changing approach to AD management that provides an instant recovery solution for customers and aligns with our deep experience investing in identity-related solutions.”
