Sifting through Mitel Networks’ charted path in an evolving telecom industry
Whether it’s 5G innovation or new iterations to the Wi-Fi 6 standard, communication technology is moving at lightning speed. However, beyond just the tech, there’s a marked mindset shift within the industry prioritizing enjoyable user experiences alongside innovation.
That, alongside artificial intelligence investments and hybrid cloud capabilities, is Mitel Networks Corp.’s blueprint for continued competitiveness as it caters to several verticals.
“One of the things that we struggled with is to address those needs of frontline workers and those nuanced use cases around things like manufacturing or healthcare,” said Eric Hanson (pictured, left), chief marketing officer of Mitel Networks. “I think Mitel is uniquely positioned in terms of being at the intersection of hardware and software and creating those unique experiences, not just based on telephony, but how multimodal communications come together and leverage AI as well.”
Hanson and Luiz Domingos (middle), chief technology officer of Mitel Networks, spoke with theCUBE Research principal analyst Shelly Kramer (right) during a conversation live from the Enterprise Connect event in Orlando. They discussed Mitel Networks’ vision for the future of communication, which revolves around unlocking possibilities, enhancing experiences and delivering value.
The comprehensive plan in detail
Alongside a revamped user experience, Mitel Networks aims to serve diverse needs across various industries, emphasizing the convergence of hardware, software and AI to create unique solutions tailored to specific use cases.
“For us, the big trend is how to take some of those types of trends and help our customers drive value out of them today,” Hanson said. “I believe that the market is switching into more of a mode of ‘What’s the right tool for the right job? What’s the right technology and delivery methodology?'”
The company also emphasizes a hybrid approach tailored to individual needs rather than a one-size-fits-all mentality. This flexibility enables Mitel Networks to offer unparalleled deployment options, leveraging integration capabilities to deliver seamless experiences across environments, according to Domingos.
“In a world of today where customers have capabilities already in the cloud, a lot of on-premise equipment, applications and third-party integrations, we want to be the vendor that has a strong service capability by ourselves or with our channel partners to be able to provide those functionalities,” he said.
