PagerDuty Operations Cloud gets a boost with new AI and automation capabilities

Analytics and observability firm PagerDuty Inc. today launched new capabilities and upgrades to its PagerDuty Operations Cloud that are designed to assist in the resolution of operational issues and increase revenue.

The new capabilities are pitched as helping enterprises modernize their operations centers by standardizing automation practices, transforming management and automating remote-location operations. With the enhancements, teams can use artificial intelligence, automation and end-to-end incident management to anticipate, identify and resolve operational issues.

The PagerDuty Operations Cloud combines incident management, AIOps, automation, customer service operations and PagerDuty Copilot into an easy-to-use platform for mission-critical, time-sensitive, high-impact work across information technology, DevOps, security and business teams. The platform also includes application programming interfaces that allow organizations to integrate with multiple technology stacks, delivering reliable availability for operational transformation.

PagerDuty Copilot, launched today in early access, is a generative AI assistant embedded in the PagerDuty Operations Cloud that augments and scales up operations teams with AI and automation to manage mission-critical work. The service interprets the results of automated diagnostics to provide responders with incident context, drafting status updates and drafts of post-incident reviews with the click of a button. It also gives teams the ability to eliminate time-consuming and repetitive tasks so they can focus on high-priority needs.

PagerDuty Operations Console, also launching today in early access, provides AIOps that offer details on newly created incidents and a live, shared view of operational health. The console includes flexible filters that are said to ensure that issues are immediately discoverable so that the network operations center and ITOps teams can triage and take action on issues quickly.

Existing service PagerDuty Automation is receiving a range of enhancements to help organizations standardize operations, improve efficiency and enhance customer experiences by connecting and automating critical work across teams, systems and environments. PageDuty Runbook Automation is also gaining new capabilities to help organizations build, deploy, run and manage automation jobs at scale. A new sub-feature called “Project-based runner management” helps organizations increase automation while still allowing teams to operate efficiently within their particular technical requirements and dependencies.

“To remain competitive, companies must innovate rapidly and deliver an always-on, immediate digital experience that consumers expect,” Jeffrey Hausman, chief product development officer at PagerDuty, said about the release. “With the massive amount of noise coming in across teams and tools, it’s challenging to act quickly when your teams are mired in antiquated systems and manual processes, especially at scale.”
