Insider risk management company Code42 Software Inc. announced today that it has partnered with cybersecurity company Abnormal Security Corp. to launch a new integration to protect data from insider threats across email, the web and the cloud.
The new integration, called Abnormal Security for Incydr Flows, provides joint customers with increased visibility and control over data access, email, web and cloud while enabling security teams to remediate insider threat incidents. Incydr is Code42’s cloud-native data protection product that helps enterprise security teams detect insider risks to data that could lead to data leaks, data loss and insider threat breaches.
Abnormal Security for Incydr Flows allows organizations to use a single source to dynamically monitor and respond to risk-based events to prevent high-risk users from leaking data. When insider-driven events occur, security teams can quickly stop and address such incidents, the companies said.
Joint customers can manage user groups, using information from Abnormal Security’s user groups to add, remove and manage users on Code42 Incydr watch lists, such as high-risk users or repeat offenders based on alert types.
The joint service detects exfiltration, seamlessly managing the highest-risk users while gaining visibility into email, endpoint and cloud exfiltration events. Users can also leverage a full range of controls to take preventative and corrective action on detected activities using Abnormal Security and Code42 Incydr response controls.
“The data loss and threat protection capabilities of Code42 Incydr data protection combined with Abnormal Security’s ability to deeply understand human behavior and precisely detect anomalies ensures our customers have comprehensive visibility and control over critical data,” said Mike Britton, chief information security officer at Abnormal Security. “The beauty of this integration is that it maximizes cybersecurity protections without hampering worker productivity.”
In addition to teaming up with Abnormal Security, Code42 also announced a new risk detection workflow for Incydr at the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit today. The enhanced detection workflow saves analysts time and resources by automatically surfacing important risks and recommended actions.
The new Code42 Incydr detection workflow offers security professionals key benefits, including surfacing risky activity through prioritization analytics to uncover and act upon unknown risks. User interaction and event-based analytics improve analyst workflows by reducing alert fatigue and ensuring focus on high-risk activities. At the same time, integrated controls automate responses to routine mistakes, block unacceptable actions and allow time for investigating critical cases without the need for policy creation, management, or updates.
Code42 is a venture capital-backed startup, having raised $138 million to date, according to Tracxn, including a round of $85 million in 2015. Investors in the company include New Enterprise Associates LP, JMI Equity LLC, Accel Partners LP, Split Rock Partners LLC and Dropbox Inc.
