Samsara debuts new IoT solutions for enhanced operational efficiency
Internet of things cloud platform provider Samsara Inc. today unveiled several new solutions for assets, training and automated workflows that are built to empower the “physical operations leaders who run the world.”
The new products and solutions, announced at the company’s Beyond 24 conference in Chicago, are aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, safety and sustainability. The innovations leverage data and artificial intelligence to provide what the company says are actionable insights that help organizations streamline their processes and improve performance.
Leading the list of announcements is Connected Training, a new service that offers continuous, remote learning through the Samsara Driver App, making it easy for managers to upskill their teams. Designed to fit the unique needs of the transportation sector, the service ensures safer and more efficient operations.
Another new feature called Connected Workflows improves process automation by digitizing and orchestrating multistep workflows. The feature streamlines operations by automating tasks such as form assignments and approvals, making work more accessible and safer for everyone involved.
For operations, Samsara today launched Asset Tag, a service designed for small, high-value assets. Asset Tag minimizes downtime and reduces costs by leveraging Samsara’s network of devices to simplify inventory management and help organizations better track their valuable items.
Samara also announced next-generation Smart Trailer features to help customers run safer, more efficient truck operations. Features such as Trailer Telematics allow fleets to diagnose maintenance issues such as ABS problems and power failures to optimize trailer maintenance, enhance driver safety and boost operational efficiency.
“We are helping our customers get data from every corner of their operations — from small assets to large equipment to paperless workflows,” said Kiren Sekar, Chief Product Officer at Samsara. “More data means new insights to help customers improve their operations. Everything we announced today at Beyond will give our customers additional tools to make the jobs of their frontline workers better and safer.”
At the conference, Samsara noted that its solutions have prevented more than 200,000 crashes, digitized 230 million workflows and reduced 3 billion pounds of CO2 emissions over the past year, showcasing the impact of their innovations on both businesses and the environment.
