Enterprise orchestration software company Workato Inc. today announced the launch of new tools that it says will simplify the job of orchestrating data pipelines for artificial intelligence and other workloads.

Its new Data Orchestration offerings not only help companies set up new data pipelines quickly, but enable them to move and transform data rapidly according to their needs, while monitoring the quality of that data. Workato is the creator of a versatile, no-code integration platform that enables organizations to connect more than 300 business systems and applications and automate workflows across those systems.

The key to its platform is its so-called “recipes” for common business processes that can be created once and shared across multiple users within an organization or even the entire Workato community, so they can be reused. Those recipes can be thought of as a set of steps that Workato will follow to get work done between two or more apps. They can have advanced features that allow them to handle all app integration and workflow automation scenarios, including complex data transformations, conditional triggers and actions, duplicate detection and more.

Workato is building on the concept behind its recipes with today’s new data orchestration pipeline capabilities. The company explains that creating and managing data pipelines is often a cumbersome task that requires lots of time and tons of manual effort. This complexity means businesses have to wait for data availability and incur higher business costs, and it also introduces the potential for errors that could lead to business inefficiencies or data loss.

The company adds that existing data pipeline tools generally only focus on a specific part of the pipeline, such as data ingestion, transformation or monitoring, meaning teams are required to stitch together multiple components.

The company claims that its new tool can instantly connect to almost any kind of enterprise application, including databases, customer relationship management platforms and enterprise resource planning systems, as well as new artificial intelligence systems such as large language models. It facilitates the smooth transfer of data between all of these.

It also introduces recipes that allow users to set up automatic data movement for thousands of objects from any source, in the cloud or on-premises. Furthermore, it integrates what Workato calls “push-down transformations” and native Structured Query Language transformations, enabling data to automatically be transformed to the appropriate format as it moves from one application or system to another.

Using Workato’s tool, companies can simplify their “DataOps” processes, using built-in dashboards to monitor everything from ingestion recipes to data quality checks. The platform also supports “reverse extract, transact and load” capabilities that can push real-time insights from cloud data warehouses into business applications, and the creation of “data-as-a-service” application programming interfaces. That way, individual application users can act on events that originate in the cloud data warehouse.
